DMS Explorer
The Explorer
The explorer is a central page of the DMS. It is accessible from the DMS/Explorer menu or from a quick access on your home page.
The explorer allows the user to access the list of folders and files of the DMS in the form of a tree structure according to their rights.
The explorer offers a 3-column screen:
- On the left: The folder tree structure
- In the center: Folders and files in table mode
- On the right: Properties and search (hidden by default)
The user can navigate by clicking in the tree structure or double-clicking in the central part to open a folder. PDF documents are directly viewable from a viewer. Finally, other documents must be downloaded to be displayed by the corresponding programs.

The folder tree structure
The DMS has a root node named *Library*. This folder can contain as many subfolders as necessary.
This Library folder contains by default a *Quality* folder where all documents deposited in this directory must necessarily follow the rules of the validation circuit. The other folders of the Library node will on the contrary be free work folders that are not subject to the validation circuit.
The *Quality* folder contains 4 subfolders necessary for the operation of the application that must *neither be renamed, nor moved, nor deleted*.
Active | Validated and published files | All users |
In validation | Files in progress of writing or modification | Administrator, Writer & Publisher |
Abandoned | Abandoned files that have not been published | Administrator & Publisher |
Archive | Archived files | Administrator & Publisher |
The *Active* folder can contain as many subfolders as necessary.
The breadcrumb trail
Depending on the consulted folder, a breadcrumb trail offers the access path to the folder from the root. This breadcrumb trail is clickable to allow navigation in the consulted folders.

The central screen
The center of the page offers the result of a search or the content of a folder in table mode.
An icon is offered according to the file type.
Information such as the reference, version, and document type offers the user additional information on the file or folder.
Properties panel
A properties panel is accessible by clicking on the *Properties* button at the top right. It allows to display in the right area, additional information on the consulted folders and files

We will find the creator, creation date, path, type and keyword(s).

Search panel
A search panel is accessible by clicking on the *Search* button at the top right. It allows to display in the right area, the search options.
See chapter [Search] for more information.

Favorites
The context menu of a file displays a "Favorite" entry allowing to add this file to your list of favorite files.

After which appears a "star" symbol to the left of the file in the explorer:

The list of favorite files can be displayed in a dashboard, by inserting the "DMS / GED préférences" element (from the "Documents" category present in the "Elements" tab.

Here is an example of rendering of this element in a dashboard:

Export
All data from the DMS can be exported from the explorer.
The generated file offers the information on the screen that is to say either from your search or from a folder.
