Search
Introduction
Search on folders and files is available exclusively in the Explorer page, Menu DMS/Explorer and by clicking on the *Search* button at the top right.
The search function allows searching for files and folders based on many criteria.
*Attention*** search options are more numerous in the Quality folder since document recording is more complete.

The results present the documents containing the character string with the complete document path.
After performing their search, the user clicks on *"Launch search".* The results are offered in table form. The number of results is indicated and the searched elements, tag or text are highlighted.

Search type
By default, the search is performed:
- in the consulted / open folder.
- On folders and files
- On title and reference
Additional options available in the *Type* panel allow, by checking the option, to activate the search in:
- the name: name of the file or folder
- the content: entire file if it is a text format (document, spreadsheet, presentation, pdf)
- the annotations: discussion thread on the file or folder
- the reference: reference number of the file
- the comment: additional text on the file during its publication
Text search
The user has a text area to enter a searched character string. The search is performed on *the exact character string*. The case (uppercase/lowercase) is not taken into account.
For example, if the user enters: "Formations", the search will propose as results all files and/or folders containing the character string "formations" or "Formations". Documents named for example "formation" (without the S) will therefore be excluded.
Spaces between searched words are considered as AND.
*The % character*
The % character allows searching for a character string containing several keywords in the searched order.
For example, if the user enters: "Stage%Formation", the search will propose as results all files and/or folders containing the character string "stage de formation" or "stage pratique pour la formation", etc.
Search filters
From the results of a search or the display of a folder, the user can filter the proposed results using the filters.
By using the gauges or dropdown lists then clicking on Launch search, the user can search for:
- By publication and validity end date
- On keywords
- On metadata
- On actors identified in the validation circuit
To select an item, click in the corresponding field. You can directly select the searched value or enter a keyword to facilitate selection.

*Warning* : Dropdown lists will be single or multiple choice depending on your DMS configuration.
